Global Witness: Trump & Panama

The bread and butter work of Global Witness is to launch eye-opening reports and investigations that take months, often years to be researched, verified and produced.  These reports form the backbone of advocacy work designed to bring about change. As the in-house Multimedia Manager I was tasked with producing the film content to accompany one of their most ambitious and challenging reports to date ‘Narco-a-Lago: Money laundering at the Trump Ocean Club Panama’ for which we launched two films.

It was important to engage with American audiences and whilst we wanted to create an ‘explainer’ style film to quickly inform audiences of the headlines in a news style format, I was keen to push beyond that and make more attention grabbing content.  To do this I worked closely with American filmmakers who were living and breathing the country’s politics to ensure we produced a film in a suitable tone for the target audience. This project was an intense and illuminating experience of highly collaborative work with lawyers and campaigners to successfully launch these two films.
