I was approached by sculptor and artist Liz Middleton and asked to document the journey of the creation of her latest project - a commission called ‘The Spirit of Kings’ for Kings High School in Warwick.  

The project was a joy to work on and I really enjoyed filming with Liz over a period of time, getting to hear about and see the sculpture develop.  It is a privilege and fascinating to get into the mind of an artist - to understand how they approach a commission, where they land, the practical challenges and considerations and to observe how precise every element is.  I hope that the resulting film captures and takes the audience on that journey too, and gives space to enjoy listening to her articulate way of describing the process.
